Grand Rapids authorities warn of a new door-to-door fundraising scam.

The Grand Rapids Police Department says fraudulent fundraisers have been hitting the streets in southeast Grand Rapids, pretending to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth.

Authorities say they received a complaint this week from a resident who donated to two young men knocking on her door, who claimed to be students at Ottawa Hills High School.

The local Boys & Girls Club chapter says the non-profit does not perform door-to-door fundraising under any circumstances.

If you feel you’ve been a victim or have information about the scam, you’re asked to contact the GRPD  at 616-456-3400, or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 or silentobserver.org.
