In nationwide "strongest towns" tournament, Muskegon makes the Final Four

March Madness has come to the city of Muskegon, as the West Michigan community has made the final four in a nationwide tournament that rates the resilience of local residents. Hosted by non-profit organization Strong Towns, the tournament celebrates communities who are financially strong and resilient through the work of local citizens or “people who care.”

Cindy Larson is the President of the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce and a representative of the Watch Muskegon campaign. She says, now that Muskegon has made it to the final four, there is only one thing left to do.

“Just win the whole thing," Larsen said. "And that is why we are reaching out, because we are the only town in Michigan left in this. So a vote for Muskegon is a vote for Michigan, and it helps us get national attention.”

Muskegon will first face Annapolis, Maryland for a spot in the Strongest Town championship. Pensacola Florida and Kent Ohio are competing for the other spot. You can vote for Muskegon at strongtowns.org/strongesttown,
