Governor Rick Snyder traveled to Holland and the Lake Michigan shoreline to sign the final piece of the state budget for the coming fiscal year.
The spending plan expands Medicaid dental services for children to every county in the state.
And it includes $234 million to help Flint recover from its drinking water crisis that began while the city was being run by state-appointed managers.
"We’re working hard in Flint," Snyder says. "We’re working hard in every corner of Michigan, but (visiting Holland) was a great opportunity to highlight one of the wonders of Michigan."
The budget also includes a $1 million prize for coming up with innovative ways to keep invasive species out of the Great Lakes.
