Court denies request for one-judge grand jury in Flint water crisis case

A court case related to the Flint water crisis was stopped before it got off the ground.

The Ingham County Circuit Court denied Flint resident Keri Webber’s request to appoint a one-judge grand jury to investigate Governor Rick Snyder.

The complaint alleged Snyder violated the constitution when he used tax dollars to pay for his outside legal defense. It also asked for an investigation into potential criminal wrongdoing by Snyder.

Mark Brewer is Webber’s attorney.

“We’re going to be looking at other options in an attempt to hold the governor accountable for what we believe is the misuse of tax payer monies.”
